Formerly known as Gledhow Grove Mansion, the historic mansion was originally built in the 1830’s by owner John Hives, a Leeds industrialist & mill owner, with the help of architect, John Clark.

In 1927 the former Chapel Allerton hospital was opened by HRH Princess Mary on the grounds of the Mansion, and the Mansion itself also became a hospital to care for war casualties from the First World War, and went on to become a General hospital.

During World War II, the cellars that still remain in the mansion were made into bomb shelters. The Mansion continued running as a hospital until 1994, however between then and 2017, it was largely derelict until restoration work began on site by Ashcourt Homes in Spring 2017.

The Mansion offers the chance to own a true piece of local history and many of the original features such as the grand staircase and the Eastern bay have been intricately restored to the beautiful end result that you see today.

The grade two listed building is comprised of four main house types; West Wing, The Hall, East Wing and The Middleton. Each home is filled with character and has been carefully restored to include original features. West Wing, The Hall and East Wing are all presented within beautiful landscaped gardens and all within a private gated community.
